BRIEF

The BBC asked to create a digital platform that brings all of the BBC touchpoints into one place that engages the user more.

PROBLEM

All BBC touchpoints are in different places with no way to discover the breadth of content they have to offer. The BBC also has a lot to offer for such a wide audience and no way of making what they see relevant to their personal likes and dislikes.

SOLUTION

BBC U is an app that brings together all BBC digital platforms. The foundation of the app is personalisation and uses algorithms to create a digital space adjusted to each user.

This is based on their likes and interests - making the user feel like the BBC is curated for them. BBC U focuses on four main elements - discovery, relevance, engagement, and personalisation.

The logo is formed of simplified icons for each sector of the BBC: core, music, sports & iPlayer.

Coming together to form a 'U' and used separately when directing the consumer through a category.
